Press Release
Six Flags Qiddiya City in Saudi Arabia opened on December 31 as part of the country’s Vision 2030 initiative. Located in the entertainment-focused Qiddiya development, the park is part of a larger destination featuring sports venues, entertainment districts, waterparks, and theme parks. As the first major attraction to open in the area, the park has drawn global attention for its large-scale rides, strong theming, and several record-breaking attractions developed with Intamin.
Two major launch coasters headline the park: Falcons Flight and Spitfire. Together they set four world records and showcase Intamin’s powerful LSM launch technology. In addition, guests can enjoy a more relaxed experience on Skywatch, a Flying Island attraction that lifts riders high above the park for sweeping views of the surrounding Tuwaiq Mountains.
Falcons Flight is the world’s tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster. Using Intamin’s industry-leading LSM drive system, it reaches speeds of 250 km/h along a 4,325-meter track and climbs to a height of 195 meters. The ride also features a dramatic cliff dive element. Its trains are aerodynamically designed with specialized windshields to reduce drag and maintain ride comfort while ensuring the highest safety standards.
Spitfire rises 73 meters above the park’s skyline and features the world’s tallest roller coaster inversion. Riders accelerate to 127 km/h through a triple launch powered by Intamin’s LSM system. The coaster uses Fast Switch technology and a vertical spike to deliver a variety of sensations, including weightlessness at the spike, airtime over the hills, and a striking inverted Top Hat finale. Spitfire offers 900 meters of ride experience on 582 meters of physical track.
Skywatch provides a calmer perspective. Rising 45 meters above the ground, the attraction offers 360-degree views where guests can watch Falcons Flight and Spitfire in action while overlooking the park.
