Information

Hololabs is an internationally renowned technology studio, specializing in immersive experiences that range from theme park rides to video games, digital exhibits, and virtual reality. The history of Hololabs is rooted in collaborations with creative organizations, such as the Society for Arts & Technology (SAT) with whom they produced the award-winning telepresence installation "Breaking the Ice", featured at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Hololabs has since worked on many other physical installations ranging from outdoor projection mapping for Montreal’s Quartier des spectacles to state-of-the-art augmented reality dark rides at Universal Studios theme parks. This work has resulted in a number of awards, including a THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Technical Innovation for the "Mario Kart Augmented Reality Ride Technology".

The studio has also produced standalone games, apps, and AR/VR experiences for clients such as the Wieden + Kennedy, National Film Board of Canada, EyeSteelFilm, the Victoria Film Festival, and Nuit Blanche Toronto. Hololabs has published games to almost every platform. The award-winning breakdance game "Floor Kids", for instance, was released on Nintendo Switch, PS4, XBox One, Steam, and even Google Stadia. Other titles such as the location-based augmented reality game called "Sky Haven" was released for mobile platforms (iOS and Android), showcasing the use of augmented reality, maps, and impressive 3D graphics.
